THE PUBLIC READER

Check it out!  No ads, no pop-ups.  I hope it pleasures you as much as it does me.

The editor takes a little step back in time, oh maybe fifty or fifty-five years of so in THE STREET.

One of my favorite writers is Edgar Guest and one of my favorites of his writings is the one I feature this time, WHEN FATHER PLAYED BASEBALL.

No matter how old a story is, if it's good then, it's good now.  One of these is a sea story by GUY DE MAUPASSANT, called AT SEA.  He wrote this in the nineteenth century so it is well out of copywrite and we can enjoy it here now.

The food section has been renamed.  It is now: IN THE KITCHEN WITH HAZYJ.  Same great stuff, same great cook.  Take a look.

The latest recipe in the renamed IN THE KITCHEN WITH HAZYJ is a recipe that is so very good.  I know, I test them all.  Its a recipe for:  Mandarin Chicken.
